Dropkick Murphys

"All Roads Lead to Boston Tour!"

Words and photos by Stacey McCarthy

After seeing a band play 10 times in three years, you would think that the band would lose some of their appeal.  That's not the case with the Dropkick Murphys.  I have seen them play in a sports bar in Long Island, a baseball field in Lowell Mass and arenas with a 10,000 person capacity and they deliver every time.  This past week, I saw them in Hartford at The Webster Theatre and in Boston at the House of Blues.

Al Barr sounding better than ever at The Webster.

The newest member of DKM, Jeff Darosa.

James Lynch on guitar and vocals.

Fast forward to Saturday at the House of Blues in Boston.

West Hartford's, Tim Brennan joins lead vocalists' Ken Casey and Al Barr on stage.

The Irish Dancer in the center is Ken Casey's daughter.

Scruffy Wallace on bagpipes.

Liza Graves from the opening band Civet joins DKM on stage to sing, "The Dirty Glass".

Chaos ensued on stage as the girls grabbed for Ken Casey during "Kiss Me, I'm Shit Faced".

DKM's security trying to keep the girls from crushing Al and Scruffy.

He was probably wondering why I was taking photos instead of dancing on stage with Ken.

I'm glad I was able to get tickets for both Hartford and Boston.  Each of them was unique and fabulous and I can hardly wait to see my eleventh DKM show!
